G R Wadsworth was founded in 1952 by the late Guy Wadsworth to offer agricultural services to the local farming community for an honest price with increased quality and value. The Wadsworth family are well established in the Cambridgeshire area, particularly St Ives and the surrounding villages, locally known for the carbonated drinks business and wine shop in the centre of St Ives. Having the opportunity to be part of the drinks trade didn’t appeal to Guy as much as his love for the land.

John joined his father soon after leaving Technical College and the business soon evolved into a mix of Agricultural Contracting, Plant Hire, Groundworks and much more. Guy’s passion for Shire Horses also shone through; having worked with them on the land as a boy he was determined to make them a feature of the business, which they still are today.

Today John Wadsworth heads the business, still employing the family values set in place all those years ago, offering a first class service with a ‘Can-Do’ and safe attitude in whatever we undertake.
